In the past 30 years Manchester has supplied an endless number of key bands in a fast moving and thrilling music scene. Sparked into life by the legendary Sex pistols and Buzzcocks gig at the Free trade hall in 1976, there has been a non-stop supply of vital bands from Joy Division to the Smiths to the Fall, Factory records and the Hacienda before fast forwarding through baggy era of the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays before ending up with Oasis - the UK's biggest band of the nineties.
